Home service massage rates in Metro Manila: minimums, fees, and what to ask

A home service massage can cost less than a spa visit once you add the trip, the taxi, and the time you lose getting there. It can also cost more than the headline rate suggests. The difference is usually in the minimum hours, the travel fee, and what the provider includes. This guide shows how to compare home service rates in Metro Manila so the price you see is the price you pay.
What we could verify
A 2024 roundup from The Smart Local lists a home-service Swedish massage at PHP 350, with rates starting from a lower figure. That article does not state a minimum or a travel fee.
Some providers set a minimum booking length for home visits, and the published listings we checked do not always state one. A travel or transport fee may also apply. Neither appeared as a clear line item in the listings we opened, which is why both belong on your list of questions before you book.
The four questions to ask
- What is the minimum booking? If the minimum is two hours and you wanted one hour, the real price is double.
- Is there a travel or transport fee? Ask for the exact amount, and whether it depends on the area or the time of day.
- What is included? Ask whether oil, a massage mat or table, and the room setup are part of the price, and what you need to provide.
- Is the rate per hour or per session? Put both numbers side by side before you decide.
Do the math
Take a worked example with placeholder numbers, not quotes. If an hourly rate is X and the minimum is two hours, the minimum alone costs 2X before any travel fee. Compare that with a session of fixed length, such as the PHP 1,250 Swedish session for 90 minutes in the Quezon City listing. The cheaper hourly rate is not always the cheaper session. Work out the total you will pay for the time you actually want.
Also count what you save. A home visit removes the trip, which can be a real cost in Metro Manila traffic. Only you can decide whether that trade-off is worth it.
Areas and availability
Home service coverage varies by district, and a listing may cover only a few areas. Check the BGC, Ortigas, and Pasay pages to see which therapists cover your street before you compare rates.
Ask about late-night times when you request the booking. Some providers may use a different rate or availability at those hours, and it is better to know before the therapist is on the way.
A simple message to send
You do not need a formal request. A short message gets clear answers quickly. Something like: “I am interested in a 90-minute Swedish massage at my home in Makati. Can you tell me the rate, the minimum hours, any travel fee, what you bring, and what I need to set up?” A provider who answers all of that in writing is easier to compare, and you have a record of what was promised.
Three common mistakes
- Comparing hourly rates with session prices. Convert both to the same unit before you decide.
- Forgetting the minimum. A low rate with a two-hour minimum can cost more than a higher rate for the session you want.
- Ignoring the setup. Space, a table or mat, and water access affect the session. Ask what you need to prepare so the therapist can start on time.
Confirm the total in writing
Before you pay, check that the confirmed total matches the rate you were quoted. Include the minimum, the travel fee, and any add-ons. If the price changes, ask why and keep the message. A clear total is the easiest way to avoid a surprise at the door.
Plan for the minimum hours in your schedule too. A two-hour booking needs two hours of your time, and you may want a little buffer before and after so the session does not feel rushed.
Price and safety go together
A rate that is far below the others is a reason to ask more questions. A good provider will explain the rate, the minimum, and the travel fee in plain words. If the price seems too good to be true, or if the person avoids the question, look elsewhere. Our guide to safe home service bookings covers the checks that matter for a visit to your home.
Look at reviews from the past few months, not only the total count. A recent review that mentions punctuality, setup, and the length of the session tells you more about how a provider works today.
How to compare on Spoil
Open each profile and write down four numbers: the rate, the minimum, the travel fee, and what is included. Use the same four numbers for every provider. You can start from the Swedish massage and deep tissue pages, or browse listings by area. When you are ready, the how it works page shows how a booking request moves from request to confirmation.
